It's the practice of recording the location, deployment and condition of high-value equipment (generators, pumps, plant) over time, so a business always knows where its assets are, which site they're on, and whether they're due for service or calibration.

How is asset tracking different from vehicle tracking?

Vehicle tracking follows the van. Asset tracking follows the individual piece of equipment once it's been dropped on site, which job it's deployed to, how long it's been there, and when it's next due for service.

Can TotalCtrl track inspection and calibration due dates automatically?

Yes. Each asset carries its own schedule, and alerts are generated ahead of the due date rather than relying on someone to check a spreadsheet.

What technology is used to track assets?

A small, discreet hardware tracker is fitted to each asset. The exact hardware and reporting frequency depend on the asset and how closely it needs to be tracked, and sends location data back to TotalCtrl. It can be switched into a theft mode for more frequent, accurate tracking if an asset goes missing.
